Community Organizer, Artist, and Yoga Instructor. Dea Montelongo was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and raised in Sacramento California. She works in various art forms with a focus on painting and installations. She was co created interactive installations for Global Local, Schools Not Prisons Tour 2016, and Crocker Art Museum. Her career in community organizing began as a youth with the Washington Neighborhood Center, the Freedom Bound Center, Sol Collective, Youth In Focus, and E.S.P.I.N.O. Most recently, she worked with the Crocker Art Museum’s initiative, Block by Block and is currently at Sol Collective as project manager.
Dea believes that everyone should have access to art, health, and education. Therefore, she is committed to creating bridges where necessary.
